“Z” is for…

Z-fold with Zig Zags!

I’ll admit, I am at a loss for a “Z” project.  I have no stamp sets that begin with “Z” and no images that begin with “Z” either.  Nope…I don’t own any zebras, zoo animals, zinnias or zippers.  The only thing I could think of was zig zags.  Now I’m thinking, what zig zags do you put on a card?  Well, turns out, there are several ways you can add zig zags to your cards and projects.  And to top it all off, my card is a Z-fold card (smile).  This is the card I came up with…

Z

Here is the inside of the card…

Do you see all those zig zags?  There are three different zig zags on this card.  Can you pick them out?

The first is a faux stitching technique.  I pierced in a zig zag pattern around the Cast-A-Spell Designer Series paper and then used Zamy white gel pen to create the ‘stitching’ all the way around.  I have a sewing machine but it’s buried under only God knows what at the moment.  I had to use the Yoyo Yellow sunflowers my son had mentioned yesterday.  They are punched using the large flower on the Boho Flowers punch.  I sponged a spot of Pretty In Pink pastel and placed a Vintage Black Brad to the center.  The Garden Green stems are die cut with the Big Shot using the Little Leaves Sizzlits die.  The flower pot is half of the Round Tab punch.  It was a scrap piece of card stock that I had brayered and disliked for a project.  The colors work great for a terracotta pot though.  A snippet of a long retired zig zag ribbon gives the pot some style.  The ribbon is also the second of the zig zags to be found on the card.  I carried it into the inside of the card as well.  The final zig zag is the EyeletZb Border punch layered on itself.  Thus, creating the zig zag pattern.  By eliminating the eyelet holes of the Whisper White layer, it stands out much better.  The top Whisper White layer has been run through the Big Shot with the grid side of the Perfect Details Texturz Plate.  The sentiment is found in the Well Scripted set in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  The little flowers are the small flower on the Boho Flowers punch, again with a black brad and Little Leaves’ snippets.  I love the way the colors all ‘pop’ on the Perfect Plum card base.  I love this card!  Save the best for last, you know.

Well, it’s z end of my Creative A-B-C’s project.  I have come up with something for each letter of the alphabet and shared them with you the entire month of February.  It was a challenge but it was tons of fun to do!  I never doubted that I could see this through, but I’m wore out and the house is in desperate need of attention.  So, I will focus on that and my family a little more in the days ahead.  I’ve been neglecting my SCS gallery, too, and will spend some time getting it updated.  Thanks for following along with the fun.  Your comments inspire me and I can only hope you’ve been inspired along the way.

Until next time…

Hugs,

~Leslee~
